Come take a trip with us into the "Jewel of Taiwan", Hualien's awe inspiring Taroko Gorge National Park. Our early start tour gets you into the park ahead of the crowds so you can enjoy it in peace, the way nature intended. Fill your senses with wonder and your camera with views of soaring cliffs, plunging canyons, verdant forests and river valleys, unlike anywhere else in the world. The road itself is a sight to behold as we make our way from stop to stop through a series of tunnels, overhangs and jagged drops that come in thrilling succession.

Our Full Day, 8 Hour Tour will show you all the highlights, and hidden gems within the park. We strive to spend as little time as possible in the vehicle so there will be about 3-4 hours of walking throughout the day. All tours will be in English.


Enjoy a complimentary hotel pickup from your Hualien City Hotel. Take a scenic 40 minute ride along the East Coast before arriving at the "Jewel of Taiwan", Hualien's Taroko Gorge National Park.  Our tours start earlier than most, to ensure a most relaxing and private feel at many of the main attractions.  Lunch is included on our tour, with special menu choices available.

Throughout the day we'll take nature walks through forests, over suspension bridges, and along winding rivers.

  • Walk for an hour to discover the broadest waterfall in Taiwan, recessed within a beautiful forested mountainside setting, 20 metres (66 ft) in height and 40 metres (130 ft) in width. On a sunny day, there is a possibility of catching the view of a rainbow by the waterfall.

  • Another 15-20 minute walk from waterfall leads to the Shifen Old Street.

  • Get a rich understanding of its coal mining history.

  • Take photos by the Pingxi railway branch line, which was built in 1918 to transport coal.

  • Next, get ready for the Sky Lantern Festival that is annually held here, and is increasingly getting recognized globally as a key international folklore event.

  • Get an opportunity to write wishes on the sky lantern, shared with other persons, before lighting up a candle at its base and releasing it.

  • Photograph the moment as it takes flight.

  • Return to Taipei.
